The Capital City of Bihar: Patna

The capital city of Bihar, Patna, is known for its closeness to the origin of civilization. In ancient times, the city was known as Patliputra, which finds a great mention in the Hindu mythology’s epic Mahabharat. It is also believed that the city was established by the Haryanka dynasty king Ajatshatru. It has also served as the capital city of major empires like Haryana, Maurya, Nanda, Shunga, Gupta, and Pal.

Patna was also an epicenter of learning for many great scholars like Aryabhat, Vatsyayan, and Chanakya. Apart from these, noted scholar Kautilya also worked on ‘Arthashastra’ from the same city.
