    Introduction

Every year on 25th January, India celebrates its National Tourism Day. This year, 2022, the Government of India has declared Rural and Community Centric Tourism as the theme for this day. We all know, as Indians we strongly believe in the pledge of ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’, which when literally translated means tourists hold the value of God. Right from childhood, we all have been learning about unity in diversity, and to prove this our tourism sector alone is the best example. The diversity in Indian tourism starts with the culture, heritage, cuisine, architecture, and loads of other factors. One won’t believe it, but India has 38 World Heritage Sites declared by UNESCO. This makes India be one of the most loved countries by tourists.

These therapies are extremely good for health in the long run, a lot of tourists are attracted to come to India for medical reasons. Due to this, the travel and tourism sector’s GDP has scaled to Rs.5.95 lakh crore and is sure to cross the limits with more than 7% till the year 2028. Also, it is observed that the sector of travel and tourism has generated almost 5% employment of the total jobs in India. Being the 75th year of Independence, ‘The Azadi Ka Mahotsav’ is likewise spread in the tourism sector too.
